Suppose I could load up RE4 on my Cube and see what exactly we're dealing with vs Type I PC. Out of the 3 controller configs baked into PC version none of them match the Gamecube version controls exactly and of course without a left bumper you're restricted to Type I. The non clickable sticks isn't an issue since PC version doesn't have any stick clicking actions.Īs for the missing select button it's assigned to the Options menu which isn't a big deal (load / retry / exit game etc.) you could just hit the ESC key on the keyboard to access options.īut without being able to assign your own button config I too am concerned how a gamecube controller would work out with this port. A second adapter can be hooked up to a console, allowing up to eight players to use a GameCube controller. The adapter supports four GameCube controllers, and all original pads are supported. Good points, I checked PC controls and the only one that might work with a Gamecube controller is the Type I config since it's the only one that doesn't have the Left bumper assigned to anything. Along with the release of the controller, Nintendo released a GameCube controller adapter for the Wii U. Players could use the Nintendo DS touchscreen to compete in the Pokathlon.

Since the Gamecube controler doesn't have a left bumper, a select button, or clickable sticks I have no idea how viable it would be for this port, tho. This franchise definitely knows how to keep players coming back for more. You can use your Gamecube controler as an Xinput controler without any aditional drivers. Tekken can be extremely daunting to newer players with the sheer amount of attack combinations and move lists to memorize, and playing on a controller seems like a self-inflicted obstacle.
